Can anyone recomend a very good rear axle rebuilder in delaware. I don't want a so/so mechanic. Or someone I have delt with in the past.

Have you considered upgrading the entire axle? You might also find a cheap working axle that you can simply swap out. Might want to check with Aaron (astape on the board)
SteveX2 on both.

I've held back on upgrading because I don't do enought heavy off roading to warrant it. I don't belive when it was re-geared the job was not done correctly. This shouldn't have failed driving normally.

Is it locked?

broke a tooth on the pinion.

was told they were yukon

a d35 can fail for several reasons. ring gear bolts loosening up due to carrier flex, bent housing or shock load. also, if the crush sleeve loosened up or a pinion bearing went bad you can chip a tooth. none of these would be an install issue. if it was set up error you can check the measurements with a set up tool. i have one. it puts the pinion exactly where it should. keep in mind the d35 is fairly weak. i have seen cracked carriers too. actually i have seen all the above. btw what size tires, gear ratio and are you locked?

thanks alot. Aaron but i've found a service tech that rebuilds and regears for a resonable price thats only 8 miles away. He has all the alignment tools and gauges to do just about any rear, any make. it goes to him wendsday next week.

good deal let us know what he finds.

I would change out to dana 44s
-
its not an issue of upgrading to a dana 44 when its not necessary i don't get into to much heavy off roading. the dana 35 will perform adequately for my needs for now.
-
Gotcha yea if its just a everyday driver I would keep the same but in you wheel hard on weekends i would change them out

your talking to an old dog. i've been wheeling since 1975 and a mechanic by trade. i should think i should know when i need to upgrade. i thank you for your comments. but i stand by my choice.
