Does anyone think that a bad/wrong/broken pilot bushing would cause a trans to have internal problems? ie. rattling
Trans Rattling (new info)

-
yes it can .
-
How? What does it do to it?
-
The pilot bushing keeps the input shaft in place .
-
what would break? how much do you think it would cost to fix or get rebuilt?
-
There are a lot of other things that can be rattling. A loose heat sheild on the catalytic converter for instance. Also, the dust shields on the pinion yokes may rattle. Mine do.

jarred didnt you go with a nv3550, arnt they know for being a noisy trans guys....

Yeah but I took it to World Transmission and they said it was something internal and since its under a warranty its being sent out to OK City. Just trying to figure out what might have happened.

Just heard from the trans shop in OK City where I bought my NV3550. The guy said that the face of a tooth on the cluster gear had been grinded on. not sure why you would do that but I am getting another new transmission Hope to be back on the road by next weekend
