    (sort of off topic)
    keith,
what's the length of your rear driveshaft? just curious...
    chris

Now Chris, you know size doesn't matter.. :hmm:

I'll measure it and get back to ya.

  • haha - very funny. but seriously...i'm just trying to get a good judgement in my head for what a difference in spring heights will do for your rear driveshaft length. mine was 15 7/8 from yoke center to center with my RE 4.5 springs in last winter. if you could, measure that sometime - not so much interested in the driveshaft itself.
    thanks
    chris

    (who's he kidding  )

nope - no problem at all! just wanting to get a feel for what an inch of spring lift equates to in length of the rear driveshaft.
    chris

Okay, I've still got the crossmember out, but when I re-install that I'll get a measurement.

you're exactly right keith. that's why our combo gives up vibes even with only the smallest of spacer lifts. even my original 2" spacer lift needed 2 or 3 washers over the transfer case skid!
    chris

Yeah, and I had them bad until the MML. Still had slight even after.

Should be a thing of the past now.

I measured it today and it looks to be right at 16".

I really don't think it changes that much.

    A lot is marketing hype.

Someone good in geometry could probably tell you for sure along the lines of rise & run.

  • You guys must have automatics.

You have a shorter driveshaft than I do. Mine is around 17" long (operating length). But you guys are also running a CV which will take up a good 3" or more of space.

Nope, 5-Spd NV3550. It's longer than the auto.

I'm including the CV joint in the measured length.

We also both have the D44 rear which is longer than the 35.
