Gears from a 2000 TJ 2.5L . Trying to find out if they are definitely 4.10's. Came out of a manual trans. Can anyone help me out???

On the front diff there is a metal plate between two of the bolts (passenger side about 9 o'clock if I remember right), wipe the gunk off and it will tell you the gearing.

Stafford is right, there are tags on the diff that will have a bunch of numbers on them. One of those numbers is going to tell you the gear ratio. Also, I believe, all 4 cylinder 5 speeds came with 4.10 gears.

Gears from a 2000 TJ 2.5L .
If they are out of the axle or if there is any question, just divide the ring gear tooth count by the pinion count.
EX: 41 tooth Ring / 10 tooth Pinion = 4.10

Appreciate the help. If anyone knows of an economically friendly mechanic to put these 4:10's in my 02" 4.0 TJ let me know.

Are they used ?

Just the gears they are out of the axles and from an 00" 2.5 TJ.

How much are you going to save by going with used gears? Most mechanics are not going to guarantee anything if you are using used gears. That means if anything goes wrong it's going to be the used gears fault and this may come back to haunt you. Personally, and this is what I'm doing (already got the axles) is to swap in used axles with the correct ratio. Since I needed 4.10 gears also I got some axles from a 4 cylinder 5 speed TJ. They cost me $300 for the pair on craigslist. Although this might not be the best price, and I will still have the D30/D35 it beats paying for a regear and I can do it myself.

I've also heard it's hard to get the same wear pattern when installing used gears which can cause them to howl.
