Saturday December 5th at 12:00 pm Dover is having their "Home for the Holidays" Parade. I want to get the registration in early so please let me know who would be interested in attending!

Bands, Floats and Community Groups Needed for December 5
Home for the Holidays Parade and Downtown Dover Event
DOVER, DE – The Downtown Dover Partnership is rolling out its second annual holiday event,
“Home for the Holidays,” which will take place on Saturday, December 5 in downtown Dover.
Entries such as bands, floats and community groups are currently being accepted for the 12 noon
parade, and entertainment is being sought for indoor and outdoor venues.
“The event will begin at 11 a.m. with stage entertainment, open houses at participating
businesses and activities for families such as the popular scavenger hunt," said Bill Neaton,
Executive Director of the DDP. “We are currently seeking marching bands, floats, community
organizations and others interested in participating in the parade,” Neaton said. Those interested
may obtain a registration form at http://www.downtowndoverpartnership.com, or by calling 302-678-
2940. The deadline to register will be November 30, and there is no charge for participation.
Mr. Neaton added that this year's event will include both Friday, December 4 and Saturday,
December 5. December 4th's activities will feature the ever-popular "First Friday" that highlights
the talents of local musicians and artisans. First Friday will also include a "stag night" for
husbands, boyfriends and significant others "to come downtown, pick out a unique holiday gift,
and even get it gift-wrapped free of charge," Mr. Neaton said.
In addition, community organizations, such as church or school choirs, musicians, dance troupes
or local theater groups, are needed to perform short programs on the Loockerman Street stage

“The parade will bring Santa to town, and after the parade, Santa will appear at “Santa’s Corner”
inside the new Community Service Building on Loockerman Street,” Neaton said. “Children are
invited to visit with Santa between 1:30 and 3 p.m. on December 5, and enjoy lots of fun
activities.

The parade is this weekend....I won't be with you guys so I'm assuming you just check in at the same building we did last year. I will forward any information I get.
We might want to meet up somewhere ahead of time and roll in together. Any ideas on where? I know we've met at Wawa on Rt 8 in the past.
Either that or at the Lobby House (whatever the new name is)
right now I am still trying to make this... but not sure about decorating the Jeep... if time was money, I'd be in debt!

Dear Home for the Holidays Parade Participant:
Thank you for taking part in Downtown Dover Partnership’s 2nd Annual Home for the Holidays Parade on Saturday, December 5, 2009. Registration and line-up will begin at 10:30 AM and the Parade will begin promptly at 12:00 Noon.
We ask that one person from each group come to the Registration Table to register your group and receive your parade position number. The registration table will be at the front entrance of the Duncan Building. The parade route will begin at Spence’s Bazaar, head North on Queen Street and East on Loockerman Street and finish at Federal Street.
Parade volunteers will be wearing ID Badges. Look for these people if you need assistance or have a question about your group’s location.
There will be no rain date!!!!! If you have any questions concerning inclement weather (we’re not expecting to have a problem) please call the Downtown Dover Partnership office at 302-678-2940 after 8 AM on Saturday, December 5th.
