I've always had TJ's and I'm not too familiar with YJ tops. I have a halftop on my yj and went to look at a pair of full steel doors but realized the top rear corner which is rounded off doesn't close off because the top rear corner of my soft upper doors are squared, as is the top. I've been looking online and I see plenty of YJ's with soft tops and full steel doors. When I look at retail sites any soft tops they sell seen to have the square shaped doors. Is there a special soft top the accommodates full steel doors or is there some sort of insert to buy that fills the gap? Any input is appreciated thanks

Are you talking about a hard half top? ...bikini top? ...windjammer top combination? Pics would help if you can post them but I think I can surmise what you're talking about....
It won't seal on a half or bikini top. From my knowledge, there is no full steel door with a square corner for a YJ. I don't believe they make door surrounds that would fill that gap for YJs either but I could be wrong on that. When I had full steel doors and the bikini top (on the Jeep, that is!) I didn't have any issues I can recall with rain coming through and that gap was there on mine as well. On most aftermarket soft tops, they have a ?-shaped bar that comes down at the latch-side of the door opening that secures to the rail. When you secure the front edge of the top's side windows around that bar the door will seal on it perfectly. -
Is this the type of gap you're referring to (the top left corner of the door)??
Wow! Can't believe my Jeep used to look like that!

The gap is less than that. I'm gonna post a pic of my current top

That's my setup. My question is are all soft tops squared off like that or are regular soft tops rounded off in the top rear corner

Sorry I'm having trouble posting pics from phone but there are links above

Your top/windjammer combo was made for a square cornered door. You can get tops that will accommodate either one or the other. Here's what a top looks like that was intended for a round corner door and how the door seals up with it. Sorry for the bad angle but it's the only one I could find from when I had my full doors.

Its a Bestop Supertop that fits a YJ with full steel doors. That is what is on kuntryboy816's yj in the last pic.

Thanks. So basically in order to use full steel doors and have no gap I have to either get a completely different soft top that goes with rounded doors or get a hard top. Looks like it will be staying how it is until I NEED a new top. I really like my top, it's rare to see the wind jammer/bikini top style but it actually be all one piece like mine and it has shrunk to the point I'm not sure it will go back on if I take it off
