Don't really know. I hear they do. I'm assuming a fan blowing through a bucket full of ice and back out the holes in the top is better than nothing. -
That's an amazing idea.
So you cut 2 holes in the lid? One for the fan to point down and another hole for the cool air to escape? -

Nevermind, you're first picture didnt pop up for me on my work pc. I see the concept now. -
I'll be the first skeptic on this one....I've seen it passed around the intardnet for awhile but most don't seem to have a true understanding of the concept of hvac and 'comfort'. Obviously people have different thresholds but it's my understanding from speaking w/ pros in the hvac business that comfort is a function of temp, humidity, and air speed and that humidity actually plays a larger part than temp in the perception of comfort. You'll be blowing cool air out of this contraption but likely also increasing the humidity.
-
Humidity will already be crazy high. It won't be able to saturate much more.
-
I think its worth a shot even if it takes the edge off before falling asleep. I just need a lid for my bucket and might try it at home.
-
this might keep the ice cooler longer
and some more ideas

I was about to suggest using dry ice and then I realized I almost nominated myself for a Darwin Award.
-
Some ideas here... They're based on structure like a house but a few could be tried with a tent I guess.
-
I just find it amusing that Billy has not one but two ARB coolers that retail in the $1k range each but is going low buck on comfort....I'd have thought he was going in this direction based on the thread title.

No electricity at CHSP.I know a guy with a couple of small generators that are whisper quiet.

I think its worth a shot even if it takes the edge off before falling asleep. ...Duh , that's what the beer is for... camp much?

Hot is Hot. I dont care how drunk you are. -

Exactly....this coming from the guy talking about using the generator to run his coolers! Geez, does Lisa realize you care more about your beer than her comfort?

Of course she does. You were there when she broke her foot. Did I put my beer down? -
