Winch Question

  • Quote from "ChiChuM"

Can you use a winch when it's completely submerged under water?

I believe the Warn said you can use their's under water.

  • Like with anything electrical as long as a current wasn't flowing through it when it got wet and you let it completely dry out it will fine.

  • No no, it works fine, I was asking if you can actually use it when it is under water and as BBD said, warn claims to have theirs sealed well enough you can in fact use it when it's submerged under the water.

  • A hydraulice or PTO winch wouldn't have any issues under water. I would think that any electrical winch would be sealed up pretty good. That just might be a good question to ask when comparing the different brands.
