1965 CJ5 frame up restoration/rebuild

  • Hello all, I am starting the tear down of my 1965 CJ5. Was looking for recommendations on what I should look out for and any tips and tricks that may help. It has a Dauntless 225 V6 motor and a T14 transmission that need to get rebuilt. Currently have the motor pulled and partly into the rear down to do a frame up rebuild of the entire vehicle. I do not know any reputable machine/engine rebuild shops in the Delaware area. Any recommendations are appreciated.

  • what part of de r u in? The cj5 is a pretty simple jeep and most replacent parts should be available. Inspect the boxed sectioms of the frame for rot.

  • If it's like most CJ's acid dipping the body won't leave much left.

Are you doing a "restore to orignial" or planning modifications?
