05 unlimited lift

  • I just picked up an 05 Unlimited and want to lift it. You TJ guys, how much lift on these things will it take for 33's. I will be running 33x 13.50 pitbull rockers on 10" rims. know what back spacing I need??? And who makes a quality lift for the TJ's? something I wont need to replace in 3 years.

    thanks

  • For 33's I would run the RE 3.5 springs. Plenty of clearance to stuff 33's. They sell a few different kits from basic to super flex.

  • I have a RE 3.5 and a JKS 1" body lift and run 33s with more than enough room. I think that 35s may rub a little. Even after things settle down, there is plenty of room

  • With all that wheelbase why not go with the highest lift you can get?

What kind of package did you get with your Unlimited?

A SYE is always a good idea but with the longer wheelbase, it probably isn't required. the only point I would be concerned about there is that if the rear suspention travel is too great and with a stock drive shaft, you might pull your slip yoke out to far or out when wheeling. SYE + new drive shaft can get pricy.

  • couldnt resist the discount. :) I have an SYE t case that i could put in but would rather not mess with it. this thing is mostly going to see the beach and GWNF. no rocks in its future. I have others for that.

  • re 3.5 superflex with winch on front and warn bumper/carrier and 33 on the spare... still clear 33's w/disconnected sway bar. added a 1 inch body lift just for the extra help. 35000 miles on the lift (over a year)

    i use 15x8's i believe 3.75 backspacing... thats on a 03 TJ (not unlimited)

  • I bet that thing rides like a dream!

I haven't seen any in bright colors. I'll have to check them out.

  • It rides so smooth its almost pathetic. A lift and bias tires should cure that though :) Yeah i'd like to go to GWNF in Sept. we will see what the funds look like and I want the lift before then. I need to work a little over time to get some cash.
