... install and then some, fixed leaning jeep

  • got some rampage seat covers, the back was so easy to install and it fits tight and looks really good... the fronts on the other hand was a PITA and they don't fit that tight, but they look okay, and will save me from having to shampoo my seats next time I decide to drive thru Jeep Eater with my top and doors off

Got some Huskey liners for the back to match the front... simple drop in and now most of the kid generated MUD

grab handles were also simple and should help egress and ingress of the Jeep (esp after I get bigger tires)

I also attempted to lower my windshield, just for fun, but after numerous bolts and plastic pieces and wipers, I realized that it is not as fun as the CJ was... CJ=2 bolts TJ=headache

oh and I installed my skyjacker T-case relocation bracket... not too bad and now my t-case shifts much better (I still grind going into 4low... FSM says to do it wile moving but it always scares me when I hear a grind, so I stop and it goes right in???)

I am loving 1st Shift and the nice weather we are having.
Now I just need more parts to install... maybe an Adj Track bar

I noticed that my Jeep is Leaning bad to the right, about an inch lower then the left... OME lift and stock track bar, Is this Normal and will an Adj Track bar fix it, or have I bent something (everything looks straight and she rides straight down the road)

  • OME springs are side specific for right hand drives IIRC
Maybe you need to swap them side to side .
An Adj track bar prob wont fix the lean .
Possible something is bent , but it would really have to be bent to cause the lean

  • when I bought the kit, I asked the seller to mark the springs and they were marked,
Maybe they were marked wrong, but I don't think so, it was trucks unlimited in middletown and they seemed really professional.

I might have installed my adj swaybar links on an unlevel surface... I'll check that first

  • I had the same thing happen to me, only i am running a 2" pro comp eco lift, and a trackbar extension bracket seemed to have done the trick

  • I swapped my rear springs and now everything is within 1/4" of being level,
gotta love OME/ARB cust service, after talking with the rep, he told me what to do and it worked out.

I gave him the part numbers from the springs and he told me how to set them up... great help.
and I am glad it was the rears... fronts were more of a PIA.

  • fwiw... my XJ never grinds going into 4Lo if I'm stopped, with the tranny in neutral.

Mine don't grind when stopped... but the owners manual says to do it wile rolling, to help the gears mesh... IDK, I usually try it rolling then just stop cause the grinding scares me.

  • 90% of the time, the gears mesh fine while parked. every once in a while, I'll need to shift the jeep a little bit (could leave it in gear, but I hate the sound of grinding gears)

  • To shift in 4 lo you need to be rolling about 1 mph. Basically, you just need a tiny bit of momentum. My wife's Grand does the same thing.
