Am in the middle of the Ford 8.8 axle swap on my 98 TJ. The brackets have been welded on, and it's now sitting on jack stands in my garage. Hopefully in the next few days it'll be cleaned up, painted and ready to be installed. JeepsterJK and I are unsure how to handle the emergency brake. I'd appreciatae some input from anyone who's already been down this trail. Thanks in advance.

[/qul you are both welcome to come over an look at mine -
I used the explorer brake cables. They are extra long but they work. I cut and shortened the "y" piece under the frame.

From just looking at the tj lines they looked similar to the ford ones. I was thinking they would do? Did u try them yet

I think there's a way to make them work, but most people just say screw it and don't worry about the e-brakes or go and buy something like this: http://www.mountainoffroad.com…J_s_Disk_Brakes_Only_.htm -
On my YJ, I was able to cut the end off the stock ebrake cable and loop it over the lever on the 8.8 and use cable clamps to secure the loop. Just make sure the loop is tight around the lever so it can't slip off and you're good to go. I don't know if the TJ cables are long enough for this, but it works on the YJ.

two same side ZJ cables
-
do you know which side? does it get modified or is it the same hook up? Quadna...how did you do yours
-
same hook up. sides doesn't matter, though i would use the shorter of the two. that's what i did. i think i used two driver's sides. no modification, hooks right up.
