anyone know offhand how long the canal is from rehoboth bay to lewes? been through it but never really paid any attention to the actual distance. TIA
rehoboth to lewes canal length?

I estimated it at 5 miles.
-
much appreciated
-
This says 10 miles, I don't think that's including the Broadkill River section.
-
And by the way, it's spelled Lewes.
And it's pronounced like Louis, not Lou's.
-
yeah you woud think that after living in DE both north and south for 30 something years i could spell it right. oh well, some nights are like that. fixed it
-
It is almost exactly 9 miles from the mouth of the canal at Roosevelt Inlet to the jetty at Rehoboth Bay. Depending on the tide your boat could travel considerably more or less distance over water,,, especially if you obey all the slow/no wake zones.
-
takes about an hour to get through by boat. You have some areas you an open her up, so if you have a fast boat you can shave some time off.
-
We go through the canal 3 or 4 times a year. If we have people down that aren't into fishing and just want to cruise around we usually will take them through the canal to Lewes and depending on the time and weather we will go out the Roosevelt Inlet run along the beach and come back in the Indian River Inlet.

i wonder how long it would take my 82mph jet ski to get through there
-
a while since alot of that area is "NO WAKE"
-
-
lol i think this might
i saw on of these bad boys down in the keys out run a scarab like it was standing still. over 1,000 hp!
-
Those are bad ass boats!!
-
And this will often do the trick.
-
Yes, the boats with the lights on them don't slow down for the "no wake" zones...
82 mph would be just over 7 minutes... and it's hard to hide on the water...
-
come one omaha,,, when was the last time u saw one of those rolling through the canal?
I'm pretty sure these don't get up to 82mph,,, and if you cover up your DL#'s u don't have to worry about getting called in. (joking everyone)

As with anything else, you can't outrun a radio!!!
