Can you have a bonfire on the beach after Labor Day at Cape Henlopen state park?
Riding my bike to the beac for the MS fundraiser - Bike to the Bay. The new finish line is at the park. Considering hanging out / tailgating - Wife is driving down in the jeep...
Does anyone know?
Thanks
Fires on the beach - Permitted?

Thankfully, no fires allowed on the beach.
-
Only beach that allows fires is Dewey and you need a permit there.
I think you have to pay a deposit in case you don't clean up the mess.
-
The other "only" beaches are the private ones.
Down here its all about who you know.

Nope.
It's been tried.

Thanks for the info.... I do the Fire in Dewey in January when we go to the Polar Bear plunge.. You put a deposit in at the police station and pay $20. You get the deposit back the next day, if you clean up your mess...
But I was hoping to find a beach to drive on (with all the wood, etc) and have a nice fire, while "fishing".
being doing the MS Bike to the Bay for 11 years now., It is a great cause and event to raise money / awareness!

Hmmm.I'd like to see that thing in action. Looks like it has some potential.

Specifications show it to be 15.25 x 6.5 inches
Thats pretty small for a camp fire.

Could always get two and a propane T.
60k BTU is putting out some heat but I wouldn't expect it to make you break a sweat from 15 feet away. -
15.25" diameter is enough to put next your chairs while fishing and still give a little light and heat off. The wind will likely cause havoc to the flame though.

And at 60K BTU it should go through a 20lb bottle in about 7 hours.
Funny, we've talked about the trip to GWNF when we couldn't burn.
We actually did get some warmth from the 10 or so Tikis we had clustered together.
Maybe someone needs to build a "Giant Tiki" using like a 3" rope for the wick.
