Carb to EFI swap I,ve been going thru the search section and cannot find any info on doin the change out , I've heard of a few that have been done by members on this site . If some one can point me in the right direction for info would be helpfull . Thanks

are you trying to swap just the head, intake and manifold or the entire engine. the motor you have is a standard output 4.0l with the Renix fi. not the best set up but better then a carb. i would recomend swaping the entire motor. regardless you wil also have to swap in the trans and flywhell so you can run the cps sensor or buy the Hesco cps kit. there is a crap ton of info on these swaps on the intenet, search for " 4.0l motor swap jeep".

I did that onto my AMC 258. You want an HO head. There are two that are preferred. I don't remember the numbers off hand but one was 7??? and the other 06??. You'll need to block off some of the water passages on the head and there are a few ways to do this.
Google 4.0 Head swap and the info will pop up.

0630 is the usually desirable HO head. Was replaced in 99 by the crack-prone 0331.

I think the other one is 7290. That's the one I have.
