Jeeps For Joy Volunteer Opportunity

Jeeps For Joy will be doing our first group service project at Ronald McDonald house on February 3rd! We will be preparing dinner for the 80-85 people in the house.

We are looking for some people to volunteer for this project, and we need up to 12 people (and maybe a few alternates in case someone needs to back out).

We are aware that this is Superbowl Sunday, but the project will be from 2:30-5:30 PM so you'll be home in plenty of time to begin your festivities. No food service knowledge or experience is required, just come with a good attitude and willing to help out however needed. Please reply below (with an update to the list) if you plan to make it.

At the road crossing the main entrance to A.I. DuPont Hospital you turn left. Follow that down about 1/4 mile and you should see it on your left.

You do NOT have to be a member to join us, and kids are welcome, but they have to be 12+ as per RMHDE's rules. We will also be looking into the possibility of other volunteer opporunities later down the road where younger children can also participate.

We need to consider the menu for this event, I am open to any and all ideas. It was recently suggested to me that being Super Bowl Sunday we should do a tailgate style dinner? I am down for that but would like to hear any and all ideas!!

Sounds good to me. So something like burgers, dogs, slaw,etc..? BTW are we making,bringing and serving the food?

We are bringing/making/cleaning up the kitchen, Food is served buffet style. If we want to we can stay and eat dinner with the families but if not everyone is free to leave once the dinner is cooked and kitchen is clean.

So we need to layout the menu to purchase the items needed and to get an idea of how much. How many families are we serving? If we're supplying the food, how is it being funded? Individuals, JFJ budget, donations? If it's a lot of food then buying bulk from Costco/BJs is a good idea. Pretty sure my wife has a BJs card.
