    been there and done that, riding behind Glenn all day at Rausch will give you the same feeling as drinking a fifth of jack.

  • ahh the curse of the carb'ed inline 6. usually gotta lean them so far they'll barely run to get them through inspection, then tune them to a streetable setting when you leave. At least, that's been my experience. Didn't you have problems with the carb up at RC?

    x2 My CJ was always an adventure to get through...I got really good at tweaking it to an 'emission friendly' state in the parking lot before hitting the lanes. Always had good luck bumping the timing a couple degrees and then leaning it until it started to stumble...couple bottles of 99% isopropyl or drygas in the tank always helped too. :innocent:

  • Only if you tag it as a classic. But the problem with that is you can only drive it 5000 miles a year and never at night.


    If you can't get it through by leaning it out and messing with the idle go visit Christiana Auto on Rt. 7.

  • Was it the line to the EGR valve? I once had to take mine to a garage to get it through and they put a plug in that line. Did a good job hiding it too.

    More than likely, that is what my Mechanic and I will do. Will also keep the tank low while using the additives. :up:

    No, just pulled a random vacuum line off and it was running really lean, brought down the HC and the C02. Don't remember whether somebody here told me about it originally or not.
