Has the JFJ forum been locked?....Admin use only? Went to start a new thread and there's no option for it.

I just went in and didn't see any issues with it. But maybe because I'm a moderator on that forum. :-\
-
Must be b/c the only button I have at the top is "Mark Read"
-
Link?

Thanks. I thought you meant a different website forum and not just the JFJ "committee" forum within DeJA. I can see all the buttons so it must be a user/moderator/committee member access difference.
-
I don't think it's the committee forum, but the regular JFJ forum.
Jerry can we look into this?

I just looked at the permissions and then tested my wife's account who is a member without admin privileges and she couldn't post.Members apparently don't have the ability to post in that forum. We'll look into it.

Different permissions for "Replying" and "Starting a Thread".
Might be best to leave the Starting a Thread to those that are running JFJ.
Just my opinion.

The committee has it's own separate one. What's the point of it being public if members can't post in it?

They can still read it.
If the main purpose of the forum is to post events, etc.; then new threads should be posted by those running them.
Again, just MY opinion.

I can see both sides of that point.
-
I wouldn't exactly call it a high traffic forum where things are gonna get lost in the mix.
-
I'm curious what Kuntryboy's post was going to be.

I guess I am confused on what a discussion area is. If someone has an idea they want to bring to jfj then they have to post it somewhere else or send a pm. Doesn't really make sense to me. I could see if people were posting random crap in there but that's what moderators are for, isn't it?

It could be open and then if someone posts something ridiculous it can just be mod'd.

The intent was to have it open to anyone, what is the sense of having a forum where only the admin could post? Please open the permissions to allow all to post

Dang! Gone for a few hours and all this commotion?? Sorry y'all.
**Edit: I was going to post a question regarding any sched events for 2014 but wanted to do so in the appropriate forum. Such as, last year we did dinner for Super Bowl Sunday and was wondering if we were doing so again. Maybe inquire as to whether more events were the goal or see if we could come up with some suggestions for fundraiser....

it fixed? it works for me
