i have 2004 wrangler stock pitman arm i need arm to be 2 1/4 inches shorter does anyone know a place that would make custom pitman arm or fabricate one?

If you mean flat, look at Grand Wagoneer arms. This is what I came up with via google.

i will look into that thanks if flat might give me enough clearance

Do you need one that is flatter or just shorter? WFO concepts, PSC and Parts Mike (probably others) all sell a flat pitman that isn't drilled so you can make it from 5-7". There is another place that has one you can probably drill shorter than that but the name is escaping me right now.
The Waggy arm is flat but is longer than stock. It will also clock differently on the steering box so you'll have more turns one way and few the other. But does make a good longer pitman arm.
Heating the stocker and pressing it flat can also work depending on what you are after.

Pretty sure I have a brand new Waggoner arm laying around, just have to find it. It's pretty flat and exactly the same as what I used with my one ton steering. I don't recall it being clocked differently though. Think I bought it to re-ream it fit to one ton TREs but never did... You are welcome to give it a try. Just give me a day or so to find it.

thanks i ordered one 25$ thanks how much longer is it and can you bend or shorten shaft and weld and be safe i do like drive jeep on road? thanks for all for responce

i have built a few one ton jeeps and have always gotten away with using the waggy arm. I would not bend or cut and weld a fordged pitman. Its an importantant part of the steering system and when heated by either welding or bending it will weaken the part.
Im pretty sure Trail Ready makes a fabricated pitman.
Can u post a pic of the issue u r having? I think if u cant get it to work u r better off moving the steering box itself.

I'm running a WJ arm on my TJ that's been slightly bent and then re-tapered from the top for one-ton TRE's to give me clearance. Keep in mind that if you shorten the arm you will lose steering unless your box has additional travel as the swing will be shorter.

i dont know how to post pictures but maybe can send to jay or geoff and they could post ?

Just hit the 'attachments' button when replying

it looks like a typical application for a waggy arm. U may be able to put the end on top of the arm if u need more clearence. Just verify u have enough room and u dont bind when the axle articulates. Also u may need to adjust the angle of the track bar, if they are more then a degree or 2 off u will get nasty bump steer.

i orderd waggy arm hoping it will work thanks for info i could use all i ca get, want to hit the trails
-
it should be at my house friday hope ordered Wright one?
-
u may have to ream it out for the tie rod depending on which ones u used. The waggy arm will have a small taper like a tj tie rod. I have the one ton reamer but i dont lend it out. If u bring the drag link and the pitman i can ream it 4 u if u cant find one to use.
-
ok i will get back with you when it arrives thanks

shipping says should have on Friday!
