I removed my front drive shaft. My Haynes manual says that I have to replace the straps that hold the u-joint to the diff and the TC. can I just reuse them, or should I replace them?

Thanks

They are very cheap to replace but while you are already there, I would just do a u-bolt conversion instead. It's a much better system than yoke straps IMO.
If you do not feel like converting to U bolts, make sure you use locktite or the straps will loosen and cause a U Joint failure. Switching to U bolts will more likely than not, save you from a trail repair in the future.
Until you wheel with either one of these knuckleheads, yes you can just put them back on for normal riding around town.

Yeah, I agree. For around town, you'd be fine. But like I mentioned, they're cheap....something like $4 per pair. And X2 on the loc-tite.
J-Man is so hardcore that he doesn't even use yoke straps....but that's just how he rolls.
Good thing your not going to bd, you and your hammock would look like that
Thanks! I'll just duck tape it in place until winter is over
Wait a minute.....people drive jeeps on the street ?? ??
Just a note, if you go to u-bolts you will probably need to clearance the yoke a little for the nuts.
No big deal as long as you have a grinder.
