If you don't mind chopped tires from bouncing around corners or a little unpredictable turning, then go for it.
-
i had one in my yellow yj for a while. i hated it every time i drove it on the street. plus it kept loosing all the bolts on the front end.
-
I may consider something like that for the rear but never the front. For how cheap lunchbox lockers are, just save up and toss one of those in the front.
-
i had the front welded also, but i just unlocked the hubs. it didnt steer worth crap when locked.
-
The back of mine is welded up and it sucks. It will end up wearing out your entire suspension in the long run. its always fighting you on blacktop
Now the front with a disconnect or hub you would be ok

Try riding with his butt going around a mountain! Nah, I wasn't scared!! :o
I think the people on the street thought a prehistoric dinosaur was coming after their a$$ with all the squeeling!!!Love ya Donnie!

is don the guy with the hammered yj? lol

I have every confidence that Donnie and his ATV, as he calls it, could out drive you and your jeep any day of the week. It may look beat but that poor jeep has taken him places you could only dream of.

Sorry but I can't resist: -
Hey we all have a bad day now and then.
-
That hill he tried was more than 99% of all Jeeps would try. (As usual, the camera doesn't do it justice.)
-
he should have gone more to the right I think
I would strongly suggest NOT welding the rear if you will be driving on the street.
