I moved mine in a couple of inches. The ends have a crease already in them that allows them to follow the curve of the roll cage. The driver's side overlaps the mirror a little bit when down, but not a problem.
What have you done to your Jeep today?

Well, once again, not TO the Jeep but definitely for it.. the garage is finally squared away. I pulled the Jeep in last night and tight is an understatement! At least I now have a place to work on it out of the weather so I'm pretty happy about that. I need to move the front cabinet though.. 1/4" space between the passenger side tires and that one so it'll get swapped out. Now on to getting some much needed repairs and maintenance done!

Found the short I have been chasing.

I've had all four corners replaced by RE from 2.5" to 4" springs due to sagging. Had to pay a small few $ plus shipping. Great folks at RE.

I pulled my fuel tank and rear bumper in preparation for rusty frame repair.
It’s always harder to do things then it should be for me on this jeep. Every bolt but one snapped off when I tried to remove the bumper.
I was also lucky enough that the previous owner welded two of the nuts to the rear crossmember so you couldn’t remove them. I drilled them out since I couldn’t get a socket on them or spin them.
Parts of the old fuel tank skid are also rotted away. Old versus new.
And in typical fashion for me even the bolts on the tank band snapped off.
The next hurdle will be getting the two rear body mount bolts out. They are solid frozen and one of them simply spins.

Replaced the original fan clutch... bah, who needs bearings anyway, right?!

I scrubbed my fuel tank with degreaser and a scrub brush. Cut a new rubber pad for it out of a Home Depot rubber mat and mounted it on the new skid plate.
I was going to paint the sending unit plate with rust Convertor but the stuff I had went bad on the shelf. I’ll get it and the filler neck treated when a new bottle shows up this week.
Once I have some real time to work on the Jeep I’m going to cut out and patch the frame. I have a ton of night school work at the moment so it’s hard to sneak out to work on it for more then an hour at a time.

Stafford and I did an impromptu Rausch Creek run on Sunday, did all of the new Beaver Creek trail. It goes all the way to 23 now, crosses 23 and hits 23 again on the other side of the loop. We then decided to do that uphill black section just past Pizza Rock, just got into it, not pushing it hard at all, when I heard the dreaded POP! Busted the driver side front axle U-joint and spread the outer shaft, had to cut it to get it out through the knuckle. But we had a great half day of wheeling up til then. Beaver Creek is about an hour and a half of good black trails from end to end. This picture shows where the stub shaft ear bent away from the U-joint.

And this:
Alloy USA shafts. They're sending me a new outer shaft and U-joint. It looks like I'll need the inner shaft too. -

Five or six years ago, I had this same spline twist happen to my Nitro alloy shaft. East Coast Gear Supply replaced it no charge, no questions asked. -

That's a nice swirl pattern. You should make a paperweight or maybe desk lamp for the office out of that.
