I've got the Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels, and currently I'm running without the matching center wheel caps. I was just wondering if anyone has figured out a generic (read: cheap) cap that can be used. This is a general purpose question...not just specific to my wheels. For example, I did see an internet post where I guy sawed off the bottom of soda cans and used them as center caps. Are there any other homespun solutions? (Am not anti-M/T caps...I'm just asking a question.)

I forgot to bring them to the meeting. I only have one or two caps though.
We can go cheaper!!!! Soda Cans are the way!!!! -

They look like a great option. One nice thing about the MT's is the o-ring that keeps the cap clamped down better. -
They look like a great option.I was always smashing my center caps on my Cragars, so I tried these as a cheaper replacement option. Rather pleased with them.
They are surprising good quality for the price. -
I just never ran center caps.

But then everyone can see your rusty nuts.
that's the only reason I do on my DD: I don't want everyone seeing them.
on the trail rig, I don't care if any of you people see them. If you don't want to see them, don't look down.

What can I say. I like how it feels with my hubs hanging out.

Folks, thanks for the responses. Yes, Billy made me a generous offer on his M/T center cap(s)...am assuming that's still on the table. Didn't mean to imply that I'm ungrateful. I just got curious about options. It seems to me that the Jeep community -- especially the "built, not bought" Jeep community -- is pretty clever about outside-the-box solutions to problems. When I read about the guy using cut-off soda cans as center caps, I knew I had at last found someone who's so far out there he doesn't even know where "the box" is. That's all. All said and done, the M/T center caps would probably look best with the M/T wheels.
Having said that, I'm already nervous about the next time I need to remove the M/T center caps...and I haven't even put them on yet. Even with anti-seize stuff, based on my last experience I predict a problem. -
You may just have to add the cost of new center caps to the cost of new tires.

not what you're looking for, but found this searching for ya.. http://www.quadratec.com/products/92605_917.htm pretty neat, snaps in from the outside, so I assume you could put them in with the wheel still on the Jeep. I wonder if they'd be easily removed so you don't smack them into a rock on the trails...
Fwiw, the replacement caps from MT are listed with an outer diameter of 3.285". The Classic II wheels seem to be the only ones that use that size, so it might be tricky finding a replacement.

There are some listed at 4.25" also.
Would be easy enough to measure.

4.25" "should" only be for wheels with the 5.5" bolt circle.
