Not sure if this has been posted b4, but it looks like the jeep pick up it coming...
Pick up?
-
-
I saw that. I can't wait to see it. It might make me buy a new truck.
-
I like it, rugged looking and more room to haul stuff in the bed.
-
meh
-
If they build it. It will sell .
I would totally buy one. -
Not a fan
-
I like it, the room in the bed is a big plus, the tire carrier is kind of retro and the cab looks decent room wise and fit and finish looks good. Now if I hit the lottery i'd probably buy one
-
They want my money they need to ditch this wrangler
crap and actually build a truck. Its my same bitch about
the Chief Concept. I dont care how tough Jeep thinks its
JK platform is, its still not a proper full-size vehicle. The JK Pickup will get a lot of flash up front but will
quickly go the way of the Commander. Wrangler people
want wranglers, pickup people want pickups... -
You will probably be able to hold on to your money for a while Brian.
Any pickup that Jeep builds will fill a novelty/retro niche.
The full size truck market is very competitive already, and building a platform from scratch would never justify the cost. I'd rather see a Wrangler derivative than something based on the Ram chassis with Jeep skin.
I do agree it may be short lived but it won't cost a lot to stretch the frame a little and add a bed. They did similar with the LJ and it only lived for a couple years.
And Nissan is upping the ante with their Titan XD with the Cumins 5.0.

Agree 100% -

Why are you immediately comparing it to a full-size truck when all hints lead us to believe it'll be mid-size? Tacomas, Colorados, and Canyons are selling just fine so there's no reason to think a Jeep-branded alternative couldn't do the same. The LJ was just a long wheelbase Wrangler but this is a truck in all ways - even more than a Scrambler ever was. Add a diesel or turbo four and it's a whole new ball game. -

Nothing built on a JK chassis will ever come close to that.
My Ranger is rated to tow 5500lbs, and it's a small pickup.
The Tacoma is rated to tow like 6500lbs, Colorado/Canyon 7000lbs.
The current JK is rated for what 3500?
There's a lot more to consider when rating a truck than just the powerplant.

Exactly.
Nothing on a JK chassis... If the Tuner Brutes can't be interesting then
nothing jeep glues onto the platform will be either...
For the purposes of this fiasco I dont even care about "powerplants"
or "ratings" either. I'm fed up with the JKU-platform-of-the-gods swing
running now anyway. After the Chief, Gladiator, and FC "body kit"
concepts i realize that what Jeep is basically doing these days is trying
to find new ways of polishing a turd.
What truly pisses me off in the end though is that the true nature of
its origins are still there and yet they just dont embrace it. The
Renegade could have been spectacular if they made it more truck than
car. The new Cherokee could have been a benchmark if they just didnt
make it look like an Aztec. And here's a thought to sleep on tonight -
the same company that built the Rescue Concept decided, instead, to
channel funding into the glorious Patriot and Compass lines...
I want a real J10 and/or a real Wagoneer. Im too old for childrens toys... -
All I have to say is.....................NUKIZER!!
Although I will say, I would LOVE to have a J20 truck!! -
Makes me think of my brother selling his.
