** DEJA Trail Ride @ Rausch Sat Nov 30 2013 -Member Appreciation Ride- **

    This is the big one! Usually our largest ride of the year, November 30th is our member appreciate trail ride. What does that mean you say? All paid DEJA members (as of this posting) get their trail fees paid for the day and we feed you after. This Thanksgiving weekend so hopefully a lot of people have extra time off from work and can make it. The wheeling and grub is on us so let's get a big group out. First timers and all the knuckleheads on 40's with coilovers plus everyone in between are all welcome. I think we had at least 25 people last year.


    I've been on contact with the Anthracite guy and I'm hoping to have the run there but it's not confirmed yet. If it becomes logistically tough to do AOAA, we'll just do RC but I think it would be sweet to take a large group there. I'm open to feedback. For those that don't know, AOAA is a new offroad park +-30 minutes past RC. It's not officially open yet but we can wheel with permission.


    Gonna have this at RC, as one member mentioned to me it's still very basic at AOAA. No facilities and getting food is going be a logistical nightmare. AOAA will definitely be making appearances on the 2014 calendar.

    We're planning on going. Not sure what trails we'll run depends on who's running what and who's with me.



    What's the story for camping Saturday night? Will anyone be interested in a late afternoon run after we eat? My wife has to work on Friday night so I was thinking about coming up with my brother Friday and having Kelly drive up Saturday. Doubt she will get there until 11-noonish at the earliest. Wondering if her my daughter and I could get a small group to do some easy stuff just to get them out in the woods.

    Usually the food DeJA is providing will be after the ride and the park closes at dusk which wouldn't leave much time to fit in even a short ride. I will most likely guide a blue black group and although I can't speak for the other guides I could plan the ride so it loops past the registration area around noon to catch up with Kelly and your daughter, then continue on.
    I may camp Sat night depending on the weather.

    Sorry to mess up the awesome job you guys are doing with the sign up (no seriously, we used to do this a few years ago and the thread would turn into a CF) but is anyone from slower lower planning on driving up either Friday night or Saturday morning and returning Saturday night or Sunday morning early?


    I will be stuck in Lewes and don't want to drive a truck and trailer all the way down-back-down-back. I will meet you anywhere Dover or south so you don't have to pick me up.


    EDIT: We'll have to do a quick stop in Kennett Square or West Chester, PA to grab my Jeep but that should only take a few extra minutes. Will pay in gas money and/or beer.

    I should have included this in the original message but if you are not planning on staying for the awesome DEJA provided dinner please include that in the sign up list. Dinner plans are TBD but it will be immediately following the ride and considering sunset/park closing times at the end of the November it should be relatively early. Either bringing food to RC or going to a place (Red Lion?) in the general area. For anyone bringing a non-member along I'll work on whether there's a cost for them to grub.
