Two words: lap belt. I know, I know, there not safe, bla, bla, bla. I don't wheel hard enough to roll it and though it ain't much it has to be better than nothing. You can pick one up for about 15 bucks and install it in addition to your regular belt that you should use on the street. My two cents, fire suit on now.

ditto the lap belt. for me, I just slip the shoulder strap behind me when I'm wheeling on rocks. a lap belt would make it a lot simpler though, and no special bracketry to deal with.

I don't wheel hard enough to roll itDoesn't matter. At Rausch Creek, I saw this dude in a YJ almost roll on a green trail. LOL

I don't know....all I have in my CJ is a lap belt and although it keeps in my seat it wouldn't keep my torso from flailing out in a bad roll. Although I like the ability to turn around, if and when I mount my seats to my cage I will probably go with a 4 or 5 point harness (also tied to the cage).

Oh snap, I forgot all about that! I guess I better get good at the "tuck and roll".......... -
To answere the question... yes and no. They will fit, but it will not work properly unless you mount the shoulder straps about shoulder height. If you mount them low you risk high back compression in a roll.

Yeah, you really need a harness bar when running any type of harness. It's supposed to be within 15* of level to the top of your shoulders.
I'm running camlock 5pt crow ent. harnesses like below:
I usually just run the lap belt on the trail but clip in the rest when hitting something a little more 'hardcore' Personally I'd shy away from anything with a tensioning mechanism as in a flop or a roll they extend a bit before locking and the car-style buckles can be a pain to release with weight on them. Just ask Paul (prm99v6) how nicely the 5pts release when you're hanging in midair

Not to get too offtopic but how about video? Paul was the cameraman.

Always seem to get a comment that it "doesn't look that bad"...here's another pic of Elff going up the same way and it still really doesn't do it justice:

that is a situation that i want to avoid... some time in the next few months i will be adding roll cage reinforcement so then i will add a sholder bar that will hold the straps and i like the 5pt harness....
