Wow.
What have you done to your Jeep today?
-
-
Needs bigger tires....
Way to make 39.5's look small.
So I guess that thing won't be on the beach anymore.
Can't wait to see it. -
Is that a TYJ now?
When is the RC test run?

Riding Dirty
Nothing like a shake down run at Bid Dogs! She's sitting at 112"... don't think Ed will be able to climb trees with this B*tch... probably just roll through them!!! -
Considering it now has a detatchable steering wheel, no airbags, full hydro steering, and no fenders....Its prob not gonna make it to the beach. Shes been a ytj for about 3 years now. As for the test run Elff.....Big Dogs! Unfortunately I didnt have time to tie the seats into the cage, install the atlas and weld on the rock rings for the wheels.....Ill save all of that for RC.
-
I got new coil springs too today...
-
installed new bilstein 5100 shoxs (just need to finish makeing the skid plates).. JK rear shock mounts are most retarded thing ive seen other then the minivan crap motor lol and painted grill black.
-
Got mine packed and set-up for this weekends ride.

I like the mounts actually. They are boxed and moved out toward the tire compared to TJ's. More effective shock location due to the leverage. There is less chance of hitting them and stronger if you do. -
Poly makes new brackets that raise the shock mount up to almost even with the control arm and they have a control arm skid built in. I just got a set because my driver's side mount is tweaked and the shock is bent. My passenger side is slowly getting ground away also.

Bill they seem much better in theory but they are rock magnets even more so then the tj. I wasn't even being stupid when I bent the drivers side.

Hmmmm. I've never hit mine hard. Were you backing up? I ditched the TJ ones a long time ago and went for the poly mounts. They are nice. -
Yea I came down on it, then had to back up and hit it again. I wanted to outboard the shocks and put mounts on like your tj, but the JK body sits even with the frame in the back so it would take cutting up the body or running crazy low backspacing.

Cleaned the GWNF dust and mud from the inside and outside.

We will be having frozen drinks for the 4th.
Don't really think it will do well mounted under the hood though.
-
Due to rain and road debris or the heat? Where did you put yours?
-
I'd like to do something like this .
-
Due to rain and road debris or the heat? Where did you put yours?Yeah, mainly rain and mud.
Judging by all the mud under my hood it get's pretty wet under there.
Mines still portable at this point.
-
Eventually I'd like it under the dash but this will work for the couple beach runs. My Jeep won't be seeing much action aside from sunny days at CHSP this summer so it should suffice for now.
I actually had all the parts in my cart at Lowes today to put the outlet in my console but was under a time crunch and went the easy route under the hood.
-
Looks like what I got.
Pretty sure Schumacher is the OEM for B&D. ;D
-
I had a 1000W inverter as well in my XJ, and in the middle of summer it would over heat inside my jeep, if the windows where up on high temp days. So I would think under hood temps could do it as well. I used mine a few times to run a small husky air compressor. Even on a 60 degree day it would get pretty darn hot.
