Where'd The Gallery Tab Go?
-

Best that I can tell, one of the recent security updates deleted that portion of the integration. In the mean time... http://www.delawareja.com/gallery2

Just to add...what I can see:
Mobile version: Gallery is on the drop down menu of the home page but not on the forum page.
PC version: Gallery tab can be seen on the main home page but not in the forum page. -
Yes, the homepage and the forum are completely separate. Keith is talking about a link generated by the software"bridge" linking the forum and gallery. It's more than just a link, but a system to manage the user accounts between the two programs. That's somehow been broken by a security update and will take a little time to fix (because the gallery is several years old and no longer supported by anybody).

I remembered the direct address, but forgot the "2" on the end.
Thanks.

I'll set up a simple link tonight, it'll be on the left side of the menu instead of the right where it should be.

How many people still use the gallery? Is it really a value add anymore with all of the other free image hosting out there?

I've never seen the need to use it since I already have a Photobucket and Flikr account. -
Does the club have an instagram account?
-
Yep! I follow it.

I flipped through the gallery and I see 3 new picture albums created this year and 6 last year. I don't think it really costs us much in terms of dollars, disk space or time but if the security link between the forums can't be easily fixed and the gallery software isn't being updated, on top of their being a ton of free options out there, then it's tempting to kill it. Don't need to make a decision now and I'm sure we'd give everyone plenty of notice if it happened but it's something to consider in the future.
-
I use it and although its combersome its convienent. If its killed it will screw a lot of pic links ive posted over the years.
-
It'll stay Aaron. The gallery retains full functionality for current members, the broken coding is used to copy over accounts for new people. The gallery itself doesn't have any issues and I don't see having to change anything with it. Even if it's replaced by something else in the future, I'll keep the current system intact as long as the coding languages still support it (should be a while!).

I've got over 4500 out there.
Had a few thousand more before Jerry ran a dupe checker years back. LOL

With everyone using cell phones as cameras, is there anyway we can upload a picture directly to a forum like on FB?

Not sure if that requires more overhead than the gallery.

Yeah, it's way more complicated to do photos inside the forum... it's just not designed to do photos. I've tried it on another forum, it just clogs up the system because the photos are per thread, and you can't cross-link.
That said... I use the Tapatalk app whenever I want to upload a photo that's on my phone. Their system will resize and host the photos (on their server!) more efficiently.

I tried that once and it sucked. (Given it's been quite a while)
Maybe I'll give it another try.

I think you have to do one at a time (but can do multiple per post) unless they've changed it. I try to use my computer whenever I can to do a bulk upload to the gallery.
